Your onboarding timeline
Application and first conversation
You contact us by e-mail or via the contact form. In a short conversation we discuss your motivation and any open questions.
Onboarding training
Before you start, you take part in a mandatory training session. These take place regularly, usually twice per semester. The training covers an introduction to conversation skills, anonymity, technical tools and ethical principles.
Access and first shift
After the training you receive access to the system and are scheduled for your first shift together with an experienced counsellor.
Regular shifts
From the moment you join, you take on shifts regularly. On average that is about one per week. You are supported by supervision sessions and peer exchange.
Supervision
You take part in at least one supervision session per semester. These serve reflection, relief and exchange within the team.
Becoming a Senior Owl
After two active semesters you can become a Senior Owl. You accompany new members as they get started, pass on your experience and can stand for election to the board.
